Your Last Week As A 3 Year Old: Monday

You are so brave. Your entire world has changed in just a matter of weeks. Everything is different. Everything is new. You face this new world with a smile and fierce determination. You ask questions and run full speed ahead to learn new things. When things scare you, like your puppy, you bravely trust Mommy and Daddy that you are safe. You cry sometimes and that is ok. One of the bravest things to see in you is how you have learned to let yourself cry when you are hurt or scared. I love listening to you talk to your babies as you are teaching them how to be brave, too.

Today, I woke up to find you snuggled up on the air mattress next to me. You must have decided you wanted to be close to Mommy in the middle of the night.

As soon as you woke up, you wanted to change out of your "jamas" and into the outfit you picked out last night. You may not be able to see, but you are already better at fashion than Mommy will ever be! And in true 3 year old fashionista form, you picked out and changed into a new outfit before breakfast!

You gave big hugs and kisses to Daddy as he left for work. You put on your brave face when Mommy started getting ready for work after Golly came over. (Huge smiles and giggles for Golly!)
We sang:
"My mommy comes back.
She always comes back.
She always comes back to get me.
My mommy comes back.
She always comes back.
She never would forget me!"

And sang the song again, but this time we sang "my daddy comes back"

Mommy left for work and you and Golly started your day.
You played hard with your Golly!

In your pool and on your slide!

You helped Golly around the house.

After a yummy lunch of dosa and masala, you rode your bike in the neighborhood with Golly.

You laid down for a nap whispering Mommy's and Daddy's names because you knew we would be home soon.

When Mommy and Daddy got home, we were greeted with giggles and smiles and kisses. And you and mommy spent some time laughing and singing on our swing.

After dinner, we started our bedtime routine and you showed your brave spirit by feeding your puppy his nightly treat right from your hand! Dash-man loves his cheerios and you so much!

Of course, you made sure that Dash shared with you!
(He's not the only one who loves Cheerios!)

When it was time to say goodnight and give Daddy kisses, you made us laugh so hard when you licked Daddy on the nose, instead! You are so funny!

You rocked your babies to sleep, gave them kisses, and promised you would keep them safe.
(Because that's what families do!)

Then Mommy rocked her Cora Lakshmi.

Good night, my darling girl.

One day closer to being a 4 year old.

  1. Don't you just love the word "Mommy"?
Happy Ending to Sweet 3 y/o Cora"s year...with Blessed Beginnings to her 4 y/o one that lies ahead.
