I want to start this post by saying THANK YOU to all of you who have been praying for us and praying boldly and specifically for movement on our case. The power of prayer is astounding!
We have finally received word on movement for our case!
We received a call last week from our agency. They had finally heard back from the adoption authority that our documents were being reviewed alongside Cora's documents. While they didn't come out and say that our case had been transferred to new in-country representation, our documents would not be under review if the transfer had not been made and approved. So, this is fantastic news!
This is where your continued prayers come in. Our match with Cora has been secure up to this point. There are 6 levels of approval in Ind*a. We need an "approved" or "yes" ruling at each level. This is level 1. This means that officials are looking at our submitted documents as well as medical and developmental information on Cora. These officials will decide if our documents prove that we are parents who can adequately meet Cora's needs. They will either approve or deny our match and we will go from there.
Our case is under review this reporting period which ends on 2/28/14. We are asking that friends, family, anyone who wants to cover February 28 in prayer. Cora's city is 11 1/2 hours ahead of us here in Central time. The business day in Ind*a will begin at 8:30 pm tonight (central time) and the business day will close at 5:30 am tomorrow morning (central time). Please pray that God will go ahead of us in this. Pray that His will above all will be done. We also selfishly ask that you pray for the minds and hearts of officials to be opened and see that we are Cora's parents.
The decision will be made tomorrow, but it may be 7 or so days before we know what that decision is. The computer system is supposed to be updated with the results of the review period by the first Friday of the month.
We'll let everyone know as soon as we know something!
Hoping and praying that you hear news Monday -- or at least next week! It is so nervewracking when you know those deadlines. And I love the name Cora so much.

Thank you so much, Nancy. It is nervewracking, especially when we know what the answer should be, but don't know if people who have never met us will agree! Our agency told us not to expect any news before Friday. But at least this week will be very busy with making sure the dossier is completely ready to go over.
DeleteWe love the name, Cora, too. It was my great grandmother's name. She was deaf most of her life and blind as well towards the end. She has always been a very precious inspiration for me. Can't wait until we can tell everyone Cora's full name. Hopefully before this year is up! :)
