Your Last Week as a 4 Year Old: Monday

My sweet Luckshmoo,

I can't believe that in just 7 days you will be five years old! You have grown and changed so much in this last year. Your confidence both in who you are and where you fit has just exploded! You speak English just as well as other kids your age and you are so curious about words and what they mean. We've had some big changes with Mommy leaving work to stay home and take care of you and you have handled this transition so well. You are getting so independent and I love watching you discover how much you can do all by yourself. You love to tell me "I got this, Mom" and take off on your own to try. You are pushing limits and finding just how far you can bend the rules just like any other kiddo. You blow me away every single day with your bravery and the way you dance through life.

One of your favorite things right now is a song that your Golly made up, "Jama Jama Dance" that she sings when you are wearing your pajamas. Now you insist that I sing every part of your day to the tune of the Jama Jama Dance and I will do it every time just to see the way it makes you light up!

This Monday morning started off early with our water aerobics class at the Y and then a quick shower before school. Then Mommy dropped you off at school to enjoy a fun day with your friends. You said you were most excited about Signing Time today where you would learn a few more words in American Sign Language. You can't understand now just how happy that makes me. I love seeing your enthusiasm for languages and especially a language that has held my heart for so long.

Dash missed you so much while you were at school. He waited by the door for you to come home all morning!

After school we had to stop by the doctor's office to get nasty old shots. You weren't very happy about it, but you were very brave.

As a reward, we headed to our favorite frozen yogurt place and shared a yummy treat. We ended up sharing our table, too, with a sweet lady who needed a seat. You love to meet people! Then you changed into your bathing suit to play in the splash pad!

After just a few fun minutes in the splash pad, you were ready to move on to the next thing. We needed to go grocery shopping and you wanted to push your own cart. You are getting so big and so independent! You thought mommy was silly, but you posed for a shopping cart picture anyway.

When we got home, you asked to snuggle on the couch and turn on your favorite movie at the moment, Planes.....or as you call it....El Choop. You love El Chupacabra and cackle every time he says "I swish my cape at you!" You didn't hear him say it today, though, because you and your best furry buddy were asleep before the opening credits!

Daddy came home after nap time and you had fun showing him what an avocado is. You also helped both Mommy and Daddy make a yummy meal of stir fry and rice. You enjoy cooking with us so much. Preparing our evening meals is a special time for our whole family!

After dinner, you talked to your Jugee on the phone for a little while and then asked to have some Perkins time before bed. We've only had Perkins Panda a few days, but oh how you love him. Singing the Belly Button Song and rocking Perkins to sleep have quickly become favorite activities.

Once Perkins was asleep on his shelf, you were ready for bed. It didn't take much to get you to sleep on this busy day.

You are safe. You are loved. I will see you when you wake up.

All of my love,
Mommy
